David M. Abney, 79, went home to the Lord Saturday, June 9, 2007. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, at the funeral home.

David was born in Breckenridge, Texas, to the late Frank P. Abney and Willa F. Epps Abney. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1946, served as a military policeman, and was then honorably discharged. He was an outstanding person who will be greatly missed. He touched the lives of those who knew him with an unforgettable smile and laugh. He was a very loving, kind and generous person. He was always willing to help others understand God's word and His purpose in their lives. David was blessed with many spiritual gifts, and used them to bring others to the Kingdom of God.

Survivors include his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
