Graveside services for Robert Houtchens, (Bob) age 88 of Andrews will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wingrove officiating. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Houtchens was born in Amarillo January 26, 1934 to Anna Belle (Long) and Robert Harrison Houtchens. He married Peggy (Bradford Robertson) Houtchens in Brownfield on September 26, 1961; they were mar ried for 58 happy years until Peggy's death in April 2020. He was a Baptist and had served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a clerk for 38 years for Sid Richardson and Perry R. Bass Company; he had also worked for eight years for the Midland International Airport. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed playing cards and watching his greatgrandson Braydon, race his dirt bike.

Bob gained his angel wings on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Houtchens in 2020; one son, Robert Robertson; two sisters, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

Graveside services for Peggy Joyce Houtchens, age 84 of Andrews, Texas and formerly of Seminole, Texas will be held Friday, April 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wingrove officiating. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mrs. Houtchens was born July 1, 1935 in Marietta, Texas to Mona (Rae) Stubbs and Ernest Refer Bradford. She married Robert Calvin Houtchens in Brownfield, Texas on September 26, 1961; they were married for fifty-eight and a half years. Peggy was a Baptist and a homemaker. She and Robert lived in Kermit, Texas for fourteen years and raised their family there until Robert’s job transferred them to Midland, Texas. They remained in Midland, until 2013 and then moved to Seminole after his retirement.

Peggy Houtchens passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Odessa, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Robertson; two brothers, Ernest Bradford and Larry Bradford; and one sister, Pam Broadway. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Houtchens of Andrews, Texas; one son, Richard Robertson of Lewisville, Texas; one daughter, Regina Stowe and husband Wayne of Seminole, Texas; two sisters, Melba Turner and husband Charles of Georgetown, Texas, and Remona Cherry and husband Preston of Kermit,Texas; three grandsons, James Robert Cloud and wife Holly of Midland, Texas, Brody G. Cloud and wife Kandice of Andrews, Texas, and Dalton Robertson of Andrews, Texas; three granddaughters, DD Stewart of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Donita Arnold of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and Sheena Rosales of Ft. Worth, Texas; and 14 great-grandchildren. boyerfuneralhome.net
