Graveside services for R. C. Sparks, age 86 of Denver City, Texas, will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Denver City Memorial Park, with Rev. Randy Butler officiating. Services will be under the direction of Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver City, in association with Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mr. Sparks passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at his home in Denver City following a lengthy illness. He was born January 16, 1922 in Hope, Arkansas to Ollie Pearl (Ross) and Clarence A. Sparks.

Mr. Sparks married Vera Mangum Sparks on February 4, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas and then moved to Denver City, Texas in 1954. He served in World War II in the Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Denver City, where he and his wife taught young children's Sunday school classes. He was a very talented carpenter. He loved all of his family and was a very honest man.

R.C. Sparks is preceded in death by his wife Vera in 2004.

He is survived by: two daughters Frances Bullock and husband Bob of Lone Grove, Oklahoma
Brenda Massey and husband Jimmy of Denver City, Texas; one brother Leward Sparks and wife Jane of Hobbs, New Mexico; two grandchildren Wade Bullock and wife Holly, Scott Bullock and wife Tammie; three great grandchildren Sage, Hayley and Harrison Bullock. www.boyerfuneralhome.net
