Funeral services for George Benton Crittenden, 87, of Denver City were held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. in the Denver City Church of Christ with Brother Ray Young officiating. Interment will follow in Denver City Memorial Park with ser- vices under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. He passed away March 14, 2015 in Lubbock.

George was born on June 7, 1927 in Big Spring, Texas to E. C. and Molly Crittenden.

He was a veteran of the US Army. George married Anita (Davies) Crittenden on
May 15,1976. He was a welder and owned Crittenden Welding for 15 years, and then began DC Bit Service in 1988. George was a Baptist, a farmer, member of the American Legion, raised horses and cattle, raced horses, and a member of McDonald's coffee club.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Crittenden; 5 brothers, and 3 sisters. George is survived by his wife, Anita Crittenden of Denver City; 2 sons, Rocky Crittenden and his wife Christine, and Ricky Crittenden and his wife Corrine all of Sarasota Fl. 3 daughters, Kim Crittenden of Lafayette, La; Esther Ann Johnson and her husband Steven of Princeton, TX; and Sue Baldwin and her husband Jerry of Stephenville; 2 brothers, James Crittenden of Roswell, NM. and Donald Wayne Crittenden of Big Spring, his sister Dot Gay and her husband Dale of Ga. Along with 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Portales Children's Home, 11356 New Mexico Hwy 236, Portales, New Mexico 88130-9411. Family and friends visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 6:00 to 7:30 P M. at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City. Source: Ratliff Funeral Home Denver City, Texas.
