E. B. "Jack" Johnson, 89, of Midland died Friday, May 20, 2005 in Midland. Masonic graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 at Denver City Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Denver City. Services are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.

Jack was born Dec. 13, 1915 in Emory to Johnathan and Ella (Smiley) Johnson. Most of his childhood years were spent on a farm in Sunnyside, TX. He married Louise King in Las Cruces, NM, Jan. 14, 1939. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company for 34 years before retiring to Lake Brownwood in 1976. During his time of employment, the family lived in Jal, NM, Goldsmith, Monument, NM and Denver City. Jack was a Baptist and a member of the Denver City Masonic Lodge #1278.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, on Nov. 21, 2005. Survivors include his three sons and their wives, John and Carol of Midland, Bucky and Dorothy of Denver City, TX and Jimmy and Kay of Rainbow, TX; one sister, Irene Sallee of Albuquerque, NM; eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
