Graveside services for Roy Weston (Floppy) Ivey, age 81 and formerly from Denver City, Texas, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery with Truman Ivey officiating. Services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. Mr. Ivey will be in state for viewing at Boyer Funeral Home Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Mr. Ivey passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Consolate Health Care of Jacksonville, Florida following a lengthy illness. He was born on July 9, 1928 in Levelland, Texas to Henrietta (Ellis) Ivey and Roy Roscoe Ivey. He married Emma Jean Hix January 17, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico. He operated a pulling unit for Harrison Well Service in Denver City for over 37 years. He loved to fish and haul firewood. He spent most of his retired days helping and playing with his two grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Roscoe and Henrietta Ivey; his wife, Emma Ivey; one sister, Celia Ivey and his stepmom, Muriel Ivey. He is survived by: one daughter Melissa Walker of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother Truman Ivey of Mesquite, Texas; two sisters Jeannine Ivey Wimberley of Hamilton, Montana, Alice Ivey of Hamilton, Montana; two grandchildren Kayla Walker of Jacksonville, Florida, Cody Walker of Jacksonville, Florida and currently serving in Afghanistan. DENVER CITY — Services for Emma Jean Ivey, 64, of Denver City will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Burial will be at Denver City Memorial Park under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. She died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001.

She was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Spade and married Roy W. Ivey on Jan. 19, 1954, in Bovina. She moved to Denver City from Friona in 1957. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Denver City.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Melisa Walker of Baytown; a sister, Fern Jacks of Clovis, N.M.; and two grandchildren. Source: Boyer Funeral Home.
