Graveside services for Ollie James, 90, of Denver City were conducted on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jessie Garcia officiating in the Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Ollie passed away July 7, 2014 in Denver City.
Ollie was born on June 28, 1924 in Hill County Texas to Henry and Mackie Baxter. She married Osby James on December 13, 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico.
Ollie worked in the food service as a cook before retiring. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and loved sitting on her front porch. She was preceded in death by her husband Osby James in May 24, 1996, also seven brothers, one sister, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Ollie is survived by her three sons: Doyle B. James of Denver City, Osby D. James of Alabama, and Carl D. James of Iowa Park, Texas; her two daughters, Lois O. Wesson of Alabama and O. Jane Spurgeon of Denver City along with seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
