Death of Gordon Ellington, Prominent Troy Merchant
Gordon Ellington, for many years a prominent merchant and cotton and grain buyer at Troy, died at a late hour Tuesday night.
The funeral rites were observed at Troy yesterday, interment occurring at Robert’s burial ground a short distance North of the town.
The relisious rites were said by Rev. Mr. Morphis of the Methodist Church. The obsequies were in charge of the Knights of Pythias, P. L. Down and H. H. Swink of Temple officiating in the Fraternal tributes. The attendance was very large of friends of the decedent from many different points in the county.
From Temple there were in attendance F. F. Downs, P. L. Downs, H. H. Swink, W. S. Lemly, Jim Watters and F. M. Nichols.
The following served as pallbearers; C. W. Kennon, W. O. Cypert, L. M. Hatcher, F. A. Schmehle, T. E. Cypert, P. S. Maedgen.
