"William H. Caveness took typhoid-pneumonia (some say measles) at the age of 22 while stationed at Camp San Saba." source: Some Notes on the Cavenss Families of Mason and San Saba Counties by Fran DAVENPORT Hoerster. This makes his death in 1864. Cavaness has many spellings. William Henry's name was Caviness.
