THE SPRINGDALE NEWS VIA THE HUNTSVILLE DEMOCRAT (ARKANSAS)
JUNE 25, 1909
Sam Nunneley returned last week for Marble City, near Harrison, where he had been to arrange for having a shaft of marble quarried from which a monument will be cut to be placed at the grave of his uncle, J. B. Nunneley, who died about two and a half years ago at Temple, Texas. The stone is to be taken from property in which Mr. Nunneley has an interest and from the same quarry out of which Arkansas' contribution to the great Washington Monument was made. It is a very beautiful specimen of stone and it is conceded that time is proving it to be the most durable material in the Washington Monument. It was the deceased Mr. Nunneley's request that his last resting place be marked by a stone from this marble.
Married Florence Webster on 3 Sep 1870 in Butler Co. OH.
Former postmaster at Harrisville, TX and Temple businessman.
