Erma L. Key, 80, of Seminole passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 in Covenant Healthcare in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. in the Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole with Sterling Key officiating. Services are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mrs. Key was born Jan. 6, 1930 to John and Iva Willis in Girard, Texas. Erma Willis and Bill Key were married Feb. 2, 1957 in Clovis, N.M. The Key family moved to Seminole 32 years ago after living in Abernathy for 11 years. Erma graduated from Stamps School of Music in 1949 and was salutatorian of her class. Mrs. Key was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Seagraves until 1992, and she served as a pianist for several churches in the area. She was a private music teacher from 1964 until 2004, she worked at the Gaines County Museum for seven years and served as director for one year.

Mrs. Key is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Key of Seminole; a son, Jon Key and wife Johnna of Seminole; a daughter, Noel Nelson and husband Clay of Lubbock; grandchildren, Adam Moore, Denver Key and wife Laura, Skyler Key, Sterling Key, Kimberly Nelson and Bailey Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Ryley Key, Alyssa Key and Tyler Key.

Erma's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the GE Student Ministries Hope Springs Church, P.O. Box 73, Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
