Graveside services for Billy “Bill” Ray Key, 89, of Seminole were held Monday, April 27, 2020 in the Gaines County Cemetery at Seminole. The services were under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away Friday, April 24 in Lubbock.

Bill was born July 10, 1930 in Randolph to George Olan and Emma Starnes Key. Bill and Erma Willis were married February 2, 1957 in Clovis, New Mexico. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill moved to Seminole in 1976, the family had lived in Abernathy for 11 years prior to moving to Seminole. Bill was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Seagraves and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife Erma Key in May 2010, a grandson Adam Moore, a brother George Key and a sister Jo Ann McNeely.

Bill is survived by a son Jon Key and wife Johnna of Seminole; a daughter Noel Nelson and husband Clay of Lubbock; a sister Dorothy Craig of Tahoka; along with five grandchildren Denver Key and wife Laura of Seminole, Skyler Key and wife Sarah of Ransom Canyon, Sterling Key and wife Kendra of East Hartford, CT, Kimberly Hagar and husband Jeremy of Childress and Bailey Nelson of Lubbock; and seven great-grandchildren Ryley, Kylee, Alyssa, David, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Charley.
