Funeral services for Mr. Roberts are being held 2:00p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Sheppard Chapel of Memories, with Chaplain David Mckee officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00p.m., at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple, Texas. Ralph was born September 7, 1928 in Ithaca, New York to the union of Roger T. Roberts and Julia Lecoq Roberts. On August 26, 1984 he married Mary Sue Grimes Howard in North Pole, Alaska. They enjoyed 23 Years, 10 Months & 12 days of marriage before her death on July 8, 2008. Ralph was a protestant by faith., a heavy equipment operator for the state of Alaska before retirement back to Copperas Cove and the Grimes homestead. He served honorably in United States air force, was a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved auto racing, fishing, camping, woodworking and raising longhorn cattle on the grimes homeplace. He attended almost all city council meetings. Son, Gary and wife Nancy Roberts of Afton, New York , sister Carol Rundle of Ithaca, New York; sister, Irene Van Nederynen and her husband Stanley of Trumansburg, New York ;sister-in-law Dorothy Roberts of Cortland, New York;brother, Gordon Roberts and his wife Sandy of NC. Grandchildren: Matthew, Dawn and Eric Roberts; Great-Grandson, Tyler Roberts; several nieces and nephews and many special friends who loved and helped him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents and one brother Edward Roberts pallbearers Gary Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Eric Roberts, Lawrence Van Nederynen, Dave Meadows, Carl Gehring, Doug Cook, Raifford Williams, Rodney Barnes, Fred Dillard and Gary Hopkins.
