Sylvan HOOVER, 69, of Booker, died April 23, l997.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 25, at Booker Friends Church with Rev. Bill Sparks and Rev. John Beck officiating. Services were under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.
He was born February 7, 1928 in Bledsoe, and grew up in Beaver County, attending Booker schools. On November 22, 1947, he married Oneta Ruth SIMPSON in Perryton.
They made their home in the Booker area, where they were engaged in farming and ranching, as well as the dairy business. In 1962, he started custom harvesting, with his four sons as his crew.
For nearly 30 years, he continued harvesting from southern Oklahoma to the Dakotas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Oneta, of the home; four sons, Rex HOOVER of Booker, Kerry HOOVER of Follett, Ronnie HOOVER of Dallas and Mitch HOOVER of Darrouzett; one sister, Dovie COCHRAN of Booker; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
