Steve Baccus alleged operator of a still near Nimrod, Texas, was shot and fatally wounded Thursday when officers raided a still located in the western part of Eastland County.
Seeing a man running from the still, Sheriff Virge Foster was reported to have fired a shot to one side of the man but the bullet ricocheted from a tree and struck him in the side. Steve Baccus died shortly afterward and his body taken to Cisco, Texas.
