1st Lt Cecil Orel Walters was on his 22nd air raid mission over Germany when he died. He was pilot of the B-17 "Little Caesar." Returning from the mission, his plane collided with another B-17 over the English Channel near Cromer, England, about three miles from the coast. The crews of both planes (11 men) were lost and their bodies never recovered.
