LIPSCOMB - Jacquita Turner, 91, of Lipscomb died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Booker.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.
Jacquita Turner was born April 30, 1920, in Lipscomb. She completed the family of Glen and Rose Merydith Turner and brother, Deam when she was born.
Jacquita attended school in Lipscomb and graduated from Higgins High School. During World War II, she lived in California and assembled P-38s, single-seat fighter aircraft. She later joined Dan and Bennie Turner in Truth or Consequence, N.M., where she worked in their grocery store and had her own hobby shop.
Lipscomb was always a special place for Jacquita. She had a café, filling station and grocery store downtown for several years and later built the 7K Café and Gas Station on Highway 305.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Deam.
Survivors include three nieces, Judy Turner, Marsha Brehmer and Valerie Turner; a nephew, Merydith Turner; numerous cousins and friends, including a special cousin, Lance Bussard and his wife Tanja and son Ben; and special friend, Denny King.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
