Obituary:
Lipscomb – Funeral services for Clara Osborn BROWN, pioneer resident of Lipscomb who died April 5 at Wichita, Kansas were held Friday at the Lipscomb United Christian Church with the Rev. McMillan, pastor, officiating.
Pall bearers were Everett SHAHAN, Earl PAINE, Rock COWAN, Morris McKEE, Raymond AKERS, and Omar OWEN.
A choir of Lipscomb and Darrouzett women accompanied by Mary Lynn WEBB sang Mrs. BROWN’s favorite hymn, “Sweet Hour of Prayer” and “Beyond the Sunset.”
Mrs. Clara OSBORN was born in New York State, and later moved to Douglas, Kansas. In 1909 the family bought and moved to the Lockhart Ranch in Lipscomb county.
Later she was married to Jack BROWN who preceded her in death several years ago. Mrs. BROWN spent many years of her life in Lipscomb where she was loved by all her friends and neighbors. She became virtually helpless more than a year ago, and moved to the home of her niece Mrs. John MORSE of Wichita, Kansas.
