Spearman - Johnnie C. Lee, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee was born in Sherman County in 1924. He married Jo Ann Hoskins on Sept. 1, 1947, in Dumas. He served in the Marines in the invasions of the Marshall Islands, Tinian, Saipan, and Iwo Jima, receiving two Purple Hearts. He was Hansford County judge from 1948 to 1978. He was manager of Palo Duro River Authority from 1978 to 1993. He was first chairman of Hansford County Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jock Lee of Fritch; two daughters, Jolinda Marshall and husband, Charlie, of Austin, and Johnette Boyle of Amarillo; a sister, Dot Quackenbush and husband, Bill, of Clovis, N.M.; a brother, Jim R. Lee and wife, Rachel, of Amarillo; weight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren;
The family suggests memorials be to the Stationmaster's House Museum, 30 S. Townsend, Spearman, TX 79081.
