Leroy SCHOENHALS, 70, of Bethany, Oklahoma, formerly of Darrouzett died Aug 5, 2002.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 8, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett with Rev. Bill Griffin and Rev. Floyd THIESSEN officiating. Burial was in Darrouzett Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.
He was born Jan. 24, 1932 in Shattuck, Oklahoma, and grew up in Darrouzett, graduating from high school there in 1949. After attending Lutheran College in Freemont, Nebraska, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served at various places throughout the world, retiring from active service in 1972.
He became a financial manager with civil service at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. In 1992, he retired after 20 years in service.
He married Madalin STONER on Dec 11, 1999 in Purcell, Oklahoma, and they lived in Bethany. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Marie SCHOENHALS.
He is survived by his wife, Madalin, of the home; one son, Greg SCHOENHALS, of Topeka, Kansas, Three daughters, Cynthia CRAFT of Omaha, Nebraska, Monique MEINERT of Sparks, Nevada and Janet JOHNSON of Carbondale, Kansas; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett, or to one's favorite charity.
