SERVICES HELD FOR CATHY SCHOFIELD

Funeral services were held 4 p. m. Sunday for Cathryn Anita Schofield, 16, of Cameron, at the First Presbyterian Church, Cameron.
She died of injuries suffered in an auto accident near Marlin about 1:45 a. m. Saturday in which the car she was riding collided head on with a pickup truck.
Services in the church auditorium, filled to capacity by family and friends of the pretty Yoe High School junior, were conducted by Rev. Eugene Strickland, pastor of Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Injured in the head-on crash was the driver of the car occupied by Miss Schofield, Dean Delleney, 16, recovering from double jaw fractures, a broken ankle and fractured left thigh.
Driver and one other occupant of the 1963 pickup truck both suffered severe injuries. They are Roy Fred Jund, 38, of Rt. 1, Marlin, the driver, treated for broken ankle, fractured ribs and internal injuries; and Robert Richardson, Rt. 1, Otto, the passenger, treated for possible skull fracture, broken hip, severe cuts about his face and head.
The accident occured on a gravel road near Marlin. Skid marks showed that the Delleney vehicle and the pickup both slid head on into the collision at a blind spot in the narrow road.
Miss Schofield was in Marlin Saturday visiting Mrs. Vivian Delleney and her son, Dean. The two young people had met at a church camp earlier this summer.
The popular high school student assisted as a Sunday school teacher and was in the Presbyterian Youth Fellowship group. In Yoe High School, she was a member of the Swing Band, the YHS Student Council, and on the annual staff.
Surviving are: her mother, Mrs. Anita Schofield, of Cameron; grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Knipp, of Cameron; Mrs. C. A. Schofield, Sr., of Kerrville; great grandmother, Mrs. J. R. Wallace of Irving; a brother Clint Schofield and a sister Judy Schofield of the Cameron home.
Pallbearers, all Cameron young men, were: Mike Perrin, Lawrence Lafferre, George Bowman, Jr., Jimmy Woodum, Robert Woodum, Dick Ponder, Larry Paul Manley and Judson Smith.
