Since 1946 Dies
LOCKNEY (Special) - Funeral services for Ed. A. Carter, a resident of Lockney since 1946 and owner of Carter Funeral Home here, will be at 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church here with the Rev. James Carter, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Carter died Saturday in Lockney General Hospital after an illness of about six months.
Carter moved to Lockney from Olustee, Okla., where he had been a banker, merchant and funeral director. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner, a member of the Guthrie, Okla,, Consistery, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and a member of the Woodmen of The World. He was a member of the Lockney Methodist Church and the Lockney Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Millard Carter, owner of Carter Funeral Home in Ralls; three daughters, Mrs. Ben Wood of Lockney, Mrs. Ervin Boyd of Odessa and Mrs. Alvin McKasson of Lawton, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Members of the Lockney Masonic Lodge will be pallbearers.
