F.C. Harmon Sr.
Dies; Rites Set
FLOYDADA (Special)
Frank Chatham Harmon, Sr. former mayor and city alderman. died about 8:20 a.m. Saturday in Caprock Hospital here after a heart attack suffered about midnight.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in City Park Church of Christ in Floydada with Steve Bracken, minister officiating. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park with Moore-Rose Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A native of Manchester,Tenn., Harmon moved to Floydada in 1906 and had been the owner of Harmon Funeral Home since 1921. He also owned Harmon Furniture here and was active in the business until retiring in 1964. He continued to manage the Floyd County Memorial Park after his retirement, however.
Harmon was active in city government and was an elder in the City Park Church of Christ for many years. He is survived by his wife Buelah; a son, Dr. F. C. Harmon, Jr. of Graham; two daughters, Mrs, Jack Cogswell of Victoria and Mrs. Donald Scaggs of Port Lavaca; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
