FLOYDADA - Funeral services for Owen Elbert Emert, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Assembly Church with Henry Russell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Mr. Emert died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at his residence near Dougherty. He was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Floyd County to A.T. and Audrey (Miller) Emert. He married Avis Lavern "Jackie" Emert on Nov. 11, 1942, in Lubbock. She died in June 2002. Owen was a tractor mechanic at Martin & Company until his retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Emert of Hale Center and Floyd Emert of Sulfur, Okla.; two daughters, Patsy Bailey and Vickie Emert, both of Floydada; two brothers, Lon Emert and Tommie Emert, both of Floydada; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
