SPEARMAN - William C. "Bill" Whitford, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Hansford Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Whitford managed Spearman Redi-Mix from 1957 to 1979. He was a member of First Christian Church of Spearman. He served in the Navy on the USS Bataan during World War II in the Pacific.

Survivors include a son, Larry Whitford of Guymon, Okla.; a daughter, Jody Harnish of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 S. Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081; or First Christian Church, P.O. Box 637, Spearman, TX 79081.
