SPEARMAN - Willie L. Wilkerson, 87, passed away surrounded by loved ones May 7, 2011, and went to be with his Lord.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hansford Cemetery with Jim Medley officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Willie was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Welty, Okla. He married Neoma Lee Dodson on July 17, 1947, in Henrietta, Okla.
Willie was a member of First Baptist Church. He was employed for many years at Daco Well Service until his retirement in 1994.
He and Neoma would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on July 17. He was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Neoma Wilkerson; seven sons, Roddy Woodson and wife Stephanie of Saxie, W.L. Dowdy and wife Diane of Grants Pass, Ore., Roy Woodson and wife Melinda of Lewisville, William Wilkerson and wife Mary of Tyler, Anthony Wilkerson and wife Linda and Marvin Wilkerson and wife Anne, all of Spearman, and Ronald Wilkerson and wife Doreen of Allegan, Mich.; a daughter, Darlene Taft and husband John of Raton, N.M.; two brothers, Otis Wilkerson of Valdosta, Ga., and Jimmy Don Wilkerson of Terrell, Okla.; two sisters, Imogene Critten of Sapulpa, Okla., and Vivian Lowery of California; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081; or First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 399, Spearman, TX 79081.
