SPEARMAN - Dorothy Halliburton Woolley, 74, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Cole of Amarillo officiating, and the Rev. Jim Medley of Spearman assisting. Private family burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mrs. Woolley was born Nov. 24, 1932, to James Raymond and Pearl Ashpaugh Halliburton. She attended school at Glendale County School in the Oklahoma Panhandle, where she met her husband, Walter Woolley. Walter

and Dorothy married on July 22, 1949. They had recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Walter fondly and lovingly called Dorothy "Doodle Bug," a name only he called her.

She and her beloved husband went Home to be with their Lord together.

Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was very active in the Esther Sunday school class and Women's Missionary Union. She belonged to the Hansford Honeys Red Hat Society and the Twentieth Century Club. She was a homemaker and work mate with Walter in his many endeavors. Some of her favorites were family, traveling, her mother cows and retirement. She will be remembered as a gentle, loving and caring Christian woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, JoAnn Cantwell.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Woolley and wife Andrea and Joey Woolley and wife Lyn, all of Spearman; three granddaughters, Jessica Black and Wendy Woolley, both of Denver, and Meg Walton and husband Ben of May Landing, N.J.; a grandson, Brady Woolley and wife Loryn of Erie, Colo.; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Halliburton of Gage, Okla.; a sister, Patsy Carr of Pampa; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family suggests memorials be to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 411 S. Fillmore St., Amarillo, TX 79101, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, P.O. Box 152241, Irving, TX 75015-2241 or a favorite charity.

SPEARMAN - Walter Lee Woolley, 77, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Cole of Amarillo officiating, and the Rev. Jim Medley of Spearman assisting. Private family burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mr. Woolley was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Follett, to Elmer and Elsie Dishen Woolley. He married Dorothy Halliburton on July 22, 1949. She died with him in an auto accident.

He worked for the Texas Co., later called Texaco, for 26 years. He then farmed in the Spearman area for another 20 years, and invented and patented the No-Spin Lugs for sprinkler systems. He loved being a member of the Hansford County Showtime Car Club, where he showed his restored 1940 Chevrolet coupe and 1958 Chevrolet Impala.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spearman and the men's Sunday school class. The Windmill Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation were among some of his favorite pastimes. Walter will be remembered as a one-of-a-kind, loving, caring, inventive man who was full of life.

He and his beloved Doodle Bug went Home to be with their Lord together.
