Sam I. Farnsworth, Lockney, Succumbed Monday, Sister's Home

Resident of County for Forty-Two Years Had Suffered Many Months.

Sam I. Farnsworth, 54, resident of Floyd County for the past forty-two years, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nannie Ramsey, Monday of this week, and the remains were laid to rest in Lockney Cemetery Tuesday afternoon following services at the First Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. H. H. Hamilton, pastor of the church. Masonic burial rites were observed, Lockney Lodge A. F. & A. M. in charge.

Born at Armour, in Limestone County, Farnsworth had been a resident of this county since the days of his youth. He was married on June 16, 1909, to Mrs. Bertha Gallager at Lockney and to this union were born three children, two daughters, Zanona and Lavonne and one son Robert. He is survived by his wife, of Lockney, and the three children, the eldest, Zanona, now being Mrs. Virgil Stone of Wichita Falls. Robert F. lives in Lockney and the youngest child, Lavonne, is a student nurse at a Lubbock Sanitarium.

Two grand children, two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Ramsey of Lockney, and Mrs. Lena Davis of Lubbock, and ten nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Farnsworth had been a member of the Methodist Church for twenty-five years and was also a member of the Masonic Order.

The deceased was for years prominent in business in the county, dealing largely in live stock raising, and at one time was an unsuccessful candidate for sheriff and tax collector. He had been gravely ill for several months. A cancerous condition caused his death.
