FLOYDADA — Graveside services for Lauless Jones Parkey, 85, of Ridgecrest, Calif., formerly of Floydada, will be at 3 p.m. today in Floydada Cemetery with Kenneth Free officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.

She died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001.

She was born March 12, 1916, in Cone. She lived most of her life in Floydada until moving to Ridgecrest in 1979. She married Dewey Jackson Parkey on April 3, 1945, in Portales, N.M. He died in 1966. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse and had worked for Caprock Hospital.

She was a member of the City Park Church of Christ. She was a member of Floydada Rebekah Lodge No. 77 and transferred to Desert Primrose Rebekah Lodge No. 412 in Ridgecrest in 1980. She worked through all the chairs of the lodge during her years as a member. She received many awards for her services, including the Decoration of Chivalry.

She also was preceded in death by three stepsons, Dewey Parkey, Bernie Parkey and Jon Parkey; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Anthony V. Taylor; a stepson, Glen Parkey of Amarillo; three stepdaughters, Patsy Skrabanek of Dallas, Peggy Thornton of College Station and Gladys Chadwick of Midland; four grandchildren; 23 stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 37 great-stepgrandchildren.
