Boyd Lynn Reay went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 15th , 2017 in Plainview, Texas at the age of 85. Funeral services will be held at Main Street Church of Christ in Lockney on Monday December 18th at 1:30. Interment will follow at Lockney Cemetery. Arrangements under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.

Boyd was born in Chester, Oklahoma on January 24, 1932 to Evelyn Polly (Green) and Glen Carlton Reay. Boyd was involved in a farm accident as a teenager with a horse drawn farm implement. He survived losing part of his leg only by the grace of God. He very seldom spoke of incident, but it gave him a spirit of hard work and determination that served him well in life. Boyd was in the farm equipment business for over 40 years. Starting in Watonga, Oklahoma and then moving to Texas selling equipment in Happy, Floydada, and Scott tractor in Plainview for many of those years. Boyd married Phyllis McDaniel in Seiling, Oklahoma on September 21, 1954. God blessed their marriage with two children. Joe Boyd Reay and Kay Lynn Reay. Phyllis passed from this life in March, 1986.

Boyd married Gayle Sherman Fortenberry on Febuary 14, 1987. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Main Street Church of Christ. They made their home in Lockney. Poppa Boyd and Momma Gayle’s place helped raise 14 grandkids and 21 great Grandkids between their two families.

Boyd is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Reay. Son, Joe Reay, Stepson, Sam Fortenberry and sister Shirley Turk.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Gayle of Plainview, Daughter Kay and husband Kyle Brock of Plainview, Step Daughter Macia and husband Keith Phillips of Lockney, Stepson John Fortenberry and wife Retha of San Angelo, Step daughter in law, Becky Fortenberry of Plainvew, his Sisters Donella Will of Georgia and Debbie Reay of Oklahoma.
