DEATH OF JACK THOMPSON ATTRIBUTED TO POISON
Jack Thompson,22,died suddenly last Monday morning at the Cardinal home in Pleasant Hill.After holding a post mortum,doctors stated that he died of an overdose of strychnine,self administered.
Young Thompson was visiting in the Cardinal home at the time,and it is believed that he took the poison at a late hour Sunday evening.Complications set up at an early hour Monday morning and he died about 9:30 o'clock.
The deceased was a cousin of W.B.Jones and had resided with him in the Pleasant Hill Community for about eight years.He was well known and liked in the community.
Funeral services were held at Lakeview Tuesday evening at 2:30 o'clock and interment made in the Lakeview Cemetery.Rev.S.M. Crawford officiated at the funeral services.
The deceased is survived by his mother who lives near Peaster,Texas,his father,one married sister near Brownfield,and four brothers.It was impossible to get in touch with these near relatives Monday,and they were not present at the funeral services.
