LOCKNEY--James Hill, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Russell Byard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mr. Hill was born in Floyd County. He was a maintainer operator for Floyd County. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Lockney Volunteer Fire Department and the Lockney Senior Citizens Association where he served as a director.
He married Myrtle E. Harkins in 1952 in Plainview. She preceded him in death in 1992. Mr. Hill also was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Don Hill, in 1948.
Survivors include four sons, Mickey Pennington of Brazoria, Travis Barton of Glen Burnie, MD., Alvie Barton of Woodward, OK., and Dick Barton of Plainview, a brother, J.T. Hill of Seattle; a sister, Maxine Parker of Mabank, 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until noon today.
The family requests memorials be to the Lockney Senior Citizens Association, 418 W. College, Lockney, TX 79241: or the First United Methodist Church, 102 W. Poplar, Lockney TX 79241.
