Edward Lee Holifield, age 80, of Lockney, passed away, Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Lockney. Funeral service will be 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Lockney Cemetery with Kyle Brock officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.
Edward was born on November 1, 1933 in Piggott, AR to Earlee and Grace (Mowery) Holifield. He married Beverly Norman on May 29, 1957. Edward was a member of Wrights Chapel Methodist Church Piggott. Ed served in the Army. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayettvile with a Master degree in agronomy. His career was with the University of Arkansas Extension Service Arkansas and Upjohn Chemical Company in Colonel Heights, VA before retiring in Piggott, AR.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Holifield of Lockney, one brother, William Holifield of Mesa, AZ, cousins, sister-in-laws; Lynon Preston of Austin, Gleynn Earle Cummings and husband Sterling Cummings of South Plains, Kay Hall of Hereford, and multiple nieces and nephews
