Wm. J. Weaver Died Friday; Funeral Sat.

Funeral services for William Joshua Weaver, 87, a pioneer resident of Floyd county, were held at the Main Street Church of Christ at Lockney Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Elder Paul McClung, of Plainview officiating. He died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. J. McClure of the Campbell community, where he has been making his home for several years.

Mr. Weaver was a pioneer carpenter and contractor of this county and made his home in Lockney, until he retired and went to live with his daughter. He was born in Tennessee January 16, 1856, and was united in marriage to Miss Dora Thompson in 1880. He has been a resident of Floyd county for the past 36 years.

The deceased is survived by two sons, Floyd of Los Angeles, California and Walter who is in foreign service; six daughters, Mrs. Geo. Ray, Oakland, California, Mrs. Sam Weakley, Pomona, California; Mrs. Art Young, Klamath River, California; Mrs. Susie Carlin, Washington; Mrs. P. D. Sandige, Amarillo; and Mrs. C. J. McClure of Floydada; twenty-six grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in 1919.

Interment was made in Lockney Cemetery with Harmon Funeral Home in charge.
