G. C. Lucas, 83, died at 4:30 a. m. Tuesday in a Cameron hospital. He was born Feb. 16, 1885 at Mount Pleasant, Texas, and moved to Minerva 10 years, ago. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Cameron three years.
Funeral services were held 4 p. m. Wednesday at the Marek - Burns Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Pierce officiating. Burial was in the Minerva Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Lucas, Cameron; two sons, Clayton Lucas of Houston and Hugh C. Lucas of Sacramento, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Vivian McCullin and Mrs. Mildred House of Cameron, Mrs. Gladys Zady of Dallas and Mrs. Margaret Francis of Xenia, Ohio; one brother, Gene Lucas of Travis; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Kevil of Rosebud, Mrs. Mattie S. Park of Pomona, Calif. and Mrs. Willie Gibbs of Marlin; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were A. W. McCullin, Jr., Grover McCullin, Scott Lucas, Herbert Colburn, Joe Tomerlin and Otto Whiteley.
