*Obituary
Rosary for Joe L. Costilla, 86, of Abernathy, TX, was recited at 7:00 pm Sunday, August, 19, 2012, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev Jacob Puthuparambil officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 am, Monday, August 20th, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr Costilla died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at his home in Abernathy.

He was born July 16, 1926 in Melvin, TX and married Eva Martinez on March 6, 1954 in Melvin. They moved their family to Abernathy from Petersburg in 1954 and he was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Frank, Pete and Raymond Costilla and a sister, Mary Bocanegra. He is survived by his wife Eva of Abernathy, 5 children, Joe Ed Costilla and Steven Costilla both of Lubbock, TX, Rosario Zuniga and Marcos Costilla both of Dallas, TX, Rosalba Zapata of Grand Prairie, TX, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 brothers, Phillip, Manuel, Gilbert and Richard Costilla and 3 sisters, Isabella Costilla, Toni Ramirez and Jesse Garcia. The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy.
