Richard “Dickie” T. McCarty, 68, of Lockney passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home in Lockney, Tx. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Lockney. Burial will follow at the Lockney Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.

Richard was born on January 7, 1950 in Matador, Tx to Truett and LaVerne McCarty. Richard and Debra (Carthel) were married on August 23, 1969 in Lockney, Tx. They moved back and made their home in Lockney in May 1982. Dickie worked for the City of Lockney from May 1982 until his retirement in October 2017. He was a strong supporter of Lockney schools and athletics. He loved his Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys, even though the bad years! His kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were the light of his life. He enjoyed going to his grandkid’s games and activities.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and a great-grandson, Jasper Harris.

Richard is survived by his spouse, Debra, of 49 years; his children Dana McCarty and husband James Gurley of Amarillo, and Deidra Ray and husband Butch of Canyon; grandchildren Shelby Harris and husband Jarrod, Brittany Lehmann and husband Max, Cheyenne Ray, Caitlyn Ray, Dalton Ray, Harley Gurley, Tabitha Salazar, and Brittany Knowles; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous in-laws he considered his. He will be greatly missed by all that loved him!
