Rosary for Guadalupe M. Garcia, 88, of Abernathy, TX, will be recited at 6:00 pm Tuesday and Wednesday, October 24th and 25th, 2017, at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Puthuparambil, officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, October 26th, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.
Mrs. Garcia died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at her home in Abernathy.
She was born August 3, 1929 in Orange, TX to Jose Maria and Carlota (Salomon) Martinez. She married Bruno T. Garcia, December 18, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX. She moved to Abernathy in 1965 from Anton, TX and was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989, and 3 children, Antonio, Amador and Aurora Garcia.
She is survived by 11 children, Paul "Polo" Garcia, Angie Tovar, Anita Garcia, Abel Garcia, Armando Garcia, Bruno Garcia, Jr., Alberta Olivares, Susie Garcia, Diane Garcia, Joe Garcia and Jessie Garcia, 4 brothers, Frank Martinez, Marcos Martinez, Jose Maria Martinez, Jr., and Vrigido Salomon, 6 sisters, Aucencia Davila, Vicky Segura, Filomena Perez, Blanche Trissel, Rosa Luis and Fidela Salomon, 37 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren and 37 great great grandchildren.
