Graveside services for William Edward Guerrant, 84, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 28, 2002, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Larry Bass officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Guerrant died Monday, March 25, 2002, in Lubbock, TX.

He was born on July 23, 1917 in Huntsville, TX. He married Elayne Halford on June 5, 1948 in Reno, NV. He served in the United States Navy before and during WWII for 7 years, serving as Chief Quarter Master. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Abernathy, TX, and the Abernathy Masonic Lodge, American Legion and VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Elayne Guerrant of Abernathy, TX. 4 sons, Steve Guerrant of New Braunfels, TX, Larry Guerrant of Ft. Worth, TX, Gerre Guerrant of Channel View, TX and Greg Guerrant of Abernathy, TX. 1 daughter, Kathi Guerrant of Mountain View, CA. 7 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 704 Ave. D, Abernathy, TX 79311 or to the Abernathy EMS, c/o Darryl Stephens, 1609 Ave. H, Abernathy, TX 79311 or to a favorite charity.
