Graveside services for Thelma Jewell Hearn, 91, of Abernathy, TX were held 11:00 am Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Green, pastor of First Baptist Church in Hale Center, TX, officating. Arrangements were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Hearn died March 19, 2006 at Southwest Regional Medical Complex in Lubbock, TX.

She was born July 16, 1914 in East Texas and married Henry Allen Hearn December 29, 1930 in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death November 22, 1982. She had lived in Abernathy since 1972 when she moved from Petersburg, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abernathy.

She is survived by a son: Donnie Hearn of Lubbock, TX, a daughter: Jo Burlesmith of Petersburg, TX, 2 brothers: Johnny Robertson of Gainesville, FL and Hubert Robertson of Mt. Vernon, TX, 4 sisters: Zephra Pope and Elouise Kinast of Abernathy, TX, Dee Carr of Lubbock, TX and Melva Downs of Pampa, TX, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. The family suggests memorials be sent Vista Care Hospice of Lubbock.
