DYKES
ROCKDALE - Services for Vernon Dykes, 78, of Rockdale were held at 2 p. m. Monday at Springfield Baptist Church in Liberty Hill.
Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Dykes died Wednesday at his home near Rockdale.
Survivors are his widow, Othella Dykes of Rockdale; six sons, Ernest Dykes of Clovis, N. M., John Edward Dykes of Rockdale, Billy Joe Dykes of San Jose, Cal., Willie Ray Dykes of Lubbock, and Arlester Dykes and Bennie Dykes both of Dallas; two daughters, Inez Mosley of Rockdale, and Albertine Jefferson of Houston; one sister, Albertine Harris of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
