She was born February 7, 1931 to Albert and Inez (Moore) Conway in Dallas, TX. She married Ray Weldon Johnson on September 27, 1948. They moved to Levelland and then made Lubbock their home. She loved everyone, especially her children, grandchildren, and church family. She wrote poems, made and sold quilts and dolls. She had a passion for scrap booking and made one for each of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson loved cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders, she was quite the practical joker. She was a faithful christian at the Sunrise Church of Christ for many years, and was very much in love with her husband, who preceded her in death on June 21, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, James Ray Petty in 2008, and a daughter at birth, Cheryl Elaine.

She is survived by a son, Glen Ray Johnson of Lubbock, TX, 3 daughters, Beverly Petty and her husband, James, of Lubbock, TX, Sherry Thomas and Kim Burt, both of Shallowater, TX, 6 grandchildren, Heather Craig, Priscilla Kurtz, Jessie Johnson, Donny Garrison, Derek Johnson, & John Petty, 13 grandchildren, and a sister, Billie Adams of Bryan, TX.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Quail Ridge Memory Care Unit, 5204 Elgin Ave., Lubbock, TX 79413, or a favorite charity.
