*Obituary for Annie
Annie M. "Peggy" Jones, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother, friend and servant of the Lord died September 20, 2003, at her home in Abernathy, TX, and has gone to be with Christ in the presence of God.

Born June 28, 1914, in Paris, Lamar County, TX, to Virgle H. Siddle and Mary Martin Siddle, she married Clovis Ward Jones on April 22, 1939 in Memphis, TX. They moved to Abernathy in 1952. Annie was a member of Frist United Methodist Church of Abernathy. Her smile was her sword, her strength was her shield, and service to others her God-given talent. Annie blessed countless lives with her beautiful, kind smile and expressions of true love and concern for all who knew her. She worked in service to others at the Abernathy ISD cafeteria for 9 years, Hale Center Hospital for 13 years, and after retirement, Annie continued to serve others as a foster grandparent for the Lubbock State School for 8 years. S

he was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, an infant sister, her beloved sons, Jerry Don Jones, and Virgle Glenn Jones, and her husband Ward Jones, all who welcome her to heaven with loving arms and with whom she reunites in great joy. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Hawkins of Lubbock, TX, Jackie Tatum of Mansfield, TX, N. Kay Jones of Lubbock, TX, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, her sister, Louise Horton of Clarendon, TX, and her brother, W. B. Siddle of Iowa Park, TX. The void which is left in the lives of those who loved her is immeasurable, but we will follow her example and her wishes, living in joy and service, and resting in the comfort, and grace of her undying love. Annie's funeral was held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 22, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Abernathy, with the Reverends Gary Hubbard, Joseph Jones and Jerry Don Cheshire, officiating. Graveside services and burial were in the Abernathy Cemetery.

`The family requests any donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Abernathy or the Lubbock State School/ Foster Grandparent Volunteer Program.
