Graveside services for Mamie Barnette Ledford, 91, of Lubbock, TX, and formerly of Abernathy, TX, were held at 3:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2002, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Ron Kelley, pastor of the Abernathy First United Methodist Church, officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Ledford died Thursday, December 19, 2002, in Lubbock, TX.

She was born on April 12, 1912, in Hunt County, TX. She married Marshall E. Ledford on October 23, 1928 in Commerce, TX, he preceded her in death on October 15, 1991. She graduated from school in Fairlee, TX and then attended Commerce Junior College. They lived in West Texas in the Acuff and Midway Communities. In 1941 they moved West of Abernathy where they farmed until retiring in 1969. She lived in Abernathy until moving to Lubbock in 2001, for health reasons.

Survivors; 1 daughter, Faye Lutrick and her husband Harvey of Abernathy, TX. 1 grandson, Johnny Lutrick and his wife Phyllis of Ransom Canyon, TX. 1 great grandson, Logan Lutrick of Lubbock, TX 1 great great granddaughter, Lillian Lutrick of Idalou, TX. A very special friend, Shawnee Cota of Lubbock, TX.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy Cemetery Assn, c/o First State Bank, Abernathy, TX 79311 or to a favorite charity.
