Rosary for Terezo Luera, Sr., 84, of Abernathy, TX, will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in St. Isidore Catholic Church wit Rev. Jacob Puthuparambil, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the same church with the same officiant. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Luera died Sunday, December 15, 2013, in Abernathy, TX.

He was born June 18, 1929 in Hillsboro, TX to Rosalio & Francisca (Ramirez) Luera. He married Cecilia Cortez on March 9, 1959 in Muleshoe, TX. They moved to Abernathy from Muleshoe in 1961. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where he was a Cursillista, usher and a member of the men's committee. He enjoyed attending Abernathy Football games and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Flora Hernandez on December 11, 1999, grandson, Larry Hernandez, Jr. on February 22, 2008 and a brother, Jacinto Luera. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Luera of Abernathy, 4 children, Terezo Luera, Jr. and wife Linda, Jesse Luera and wife Elizabeth, and Josie Hinojosa and husband Roberto, Jr. all of Abernathy and Julie Pineda and husband Paul of New Deal, TX, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Cruz Luera of Abernathy and Delfino Luera of Muleshoe, and 4 sisters, Antonia Reynero of Canyon, TX, and Elena Hernandez, Nancy Soliz, and Inez Garza all of Muleshoe.
