Funeral services for Gerhard Loewen, age 72 of Seminole, Texas will be held Monday, August 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Colony Mennonite Church with Bishop Peter Jenzen officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Loewen was born September 15, 1947 in Mexico to Katharina (Wall) and Gerhard Loewen. He married Maria Thiessen in Mexico on September 21, 1969. He was member of the Old Colony Mennonite Church and worked as a contract laborer.

Gerhard Loewen passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, four brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by his wife Maria Loewen of Seminole, Texas; two sons, Johan Loewen and wife Katharina of Canada, and Cornelius Loewen and wife Lisa of Seagraves, Texas; four daughters, Katharina Loewen and husband Johan of Seminole, Texas, Anna Loewen and husband Henry of Mexico, Maria Loewen and husband Bernhard of Canada, and Agatha Loewen and husband Gerado of Seminole, Texas; three sisters, Agatha Loewen of Kansas, and Maria Giesbrecht and husband Abe, and Gertruda Fehr and husband John, both of Canada; twenty-four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. www.boyerfuneralhome.net
