Services for Donald Ray Robison, 83, of Abilene, TX and formerly longtime Abernathy resident, will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2012, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Robison died Thursday, December 6, 2012, in Abilene, TX.

He was born November 15, 1929 to Jesse Ray "Pete" and Ina (Turner) Robison. He graduated from Abernathy High School in 1947. He excelled in sports and was offered several football scholarships during his high school years. He married Ida Sue Vincent on April 3, 1954 in Lubbock. They lived in Abernathy until moving to New Mexico in 1957 and returned in 1977. He owned and operated several businesses including a grocery store and steakhouse and he was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Robison on May 16, 2002, a daughter, Teresa Richards and 2 sisters, Bobbie Peeples and Sandy Lutrick. He is survived by a son, Vince Robison and his wife Jeanne of Colorado City, CO, a daughter, Trina Cash and husband Barry of Abilene, TX, 11 grandchildren, Jody, Clint and Ray Richards, Kyleen Day, Sport Tefertiller, Chance Robison, Katti Cash Autrey, , Lori Cash Samons and Wesley, Cody and Nikki Cash and 15 great grandchildren.
