Mrs. Shook

Funeral services for Myra Myrl Shook, 85, of Gatesville and formerly of Pearl were conducted Wednesday morning in the Evant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Bumpus officiating. Interment followed in the Pearl Cemetery.
Mrs. Shook died last Monday in Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville. She was a member of Pearl Methodist Church.
Born on March 18, 1903 in Meridian to the late John B. and Carrie Koger Adams, Mrs. Shook married Gordon C. Shook on Nov. 6, 1923, in Meridian. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1980.
For a number of years, Mrs. Shook was employed by Laird Department Store in Gatesville. Her husband was employed by Braniff Airlines for a while, they lived on Kwajalein Island, a Braniff refueling stop in the Pacific. The later moved to San Antonio where they resided until his retirement, when they came home to Pearl.
Survivors include a sister, Luzelle Hollingsworth of Waco; three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Pallbearers were A.V. Freeman, Grady Keeton, Travis Carroll, C.B. Whatley, Otho Medart and Roy Conner.
