Graveside services for Sally Kate Shadden, 81, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Bro. Clen Spoon officiating. Services and interment are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Shadden died Sunday evening, July 10, 2011, in Lubbock, TX.

She was born April 20, 1930 in Brownfield, TX, to Thomas Carr and Dora Ella (Mahaffey) Patterson. She married Otey Ray Shadden on November 7, 1966 in Clovis, NM. After getting married she moved with her husband to the Abernathy area where they farmed. She loved to paint China and was a member of the Cotton Center Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Otey Ray Shadden of Abernathy, 2 daughters, Kitty Hinkle and her husband Gary and Karen Bradshaw and her husband Randy all of Abernathy, 3 grandchildren, Coty Atwood, John Bradshaw and his wife Sara and Kate Phillips and 2 great grandchildren, Jenna and Kara Phillips. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Mary & Ed Smeal of Mineral Wells, TX, Carlene Farr of Howe, TX and Barber and Benny Bledsoe of New Deal, TX, and many nieces and nephews. www.abellfuneralhome.com
