Graveside services for Ricki L. Spengler, 64, of Abernathy, TX will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00am in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Mike O'Donnell officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy. Mrs. Spengler died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in Lubbock, TX.

She was born on December 29, 1952 to Edward and Gladys (Webb) Williams in Phoenix, Arizona. Ricki married Thomas Spengler on August 31, 1976 in San Antonio, TX. She worked as a waitress before moving with her husband to Kerrville, TX, where she helped him with construction. In 2015 they moved to Abernathy to be near family. Ricki loved to fish and never met a stranger.

Mrs. Spengler was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Dr. William C. Williams. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Spengler, of Abernathy, son, William Mudd and wife, Patricia, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, 5 grandsons, 3 great-grandsons, mother and stepfather, Gladys & Gene McQuary of New Deal, TX and sister-in-law, Valerie Williams of New Deal. The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 3511 10th Street, Lubbock, TX 79415.
